People are scared to travel during the time of the pandemic. Airlines and airports have set very strict guidelines to contain the spread of coronavirus. Every passenger needs to practice social distancing and follow all the norms surrounding it. One thing that has come to highlight recently is the new two seats for a single passenger policy from different airlines. That’s right, Vistara, IndiGo, and GoAir are offering this benefit to their customers. This is to keep the passenger’s mind in peace about who is going to sit next to them.
IndiGo is allowing customers to book a seat adjacent to theirs. But it will come only at a 25% lower cost than the base fare of that seat. Even though it provides the customer peace of mind about no one is going to sit next to them, it is quite expensive. This scheme is being called ‘6E Double Seat’ by IndiGo. The second seat will only get GST and airline component charges and nothing else. But an extra seat doesn’t mean extra luggage.
GoAir has launched GoMore Scheme which will allow a passenger to book a seat adjacent to his/her for him/herself. The airline has cited social distancing as the key reason behind the scheme. Both the seats will be clubbed under the same travel PNR number.
Along with this, GoAir has also announced ‘Online Doctor Consultation’ facility in the association with MFine. It will get the airline’s passengers direct access to more than 3,000 doctors across 500 hospitals.
Vistara’s two-seat policy is also the same as of IndiGo’s and GoAir’s. Vistara was the first airline to introduce the offer which was followed by IndiGo and GoAir. Vistara is also offering its customers the second booking without any extra cost of GST or any other airport charges which applies to the base fare. The airline is also aiming at making the customer feel comfortable about their flying experience.
