Vistara has again brought a fresh change to the aviation industry of India. The airline is now offering passengers Wi-Fi service onboard the flight. No other airline in the country is doing so at the moment. Vistara is only going to be providing the Wi-Fi service on its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which it plans on flying in international routes. A few months back, Vistara had flown its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in the Delhi-Kolkata route, but the airline primarily plans to use the aircraft for international routes. Now the customers sitting in the aircraft can enjoy the service of Wi-Fi.

Vistara Offering Free Wi-Fi to Customers

Since it is a new service and the airline wants the customers to experience what they are getting, it is offering the Wi-Fi for free to the customers boarding the flight for a limited period. The airline has already started providing this service to the customers from September 18, 2020.

Vistara will be providing the Wi-Fi service on international flights in the route of Delhi and London Heathrow. Not only this, but the airline is also planning to bring the Wi-Fi service to all of its Airbus A321neo aircraft so that even the domestic passengers can take advantage of internet sitting inside the plane.

Mr Vinod Kannan, Chief Commercial Officer, Vistara said, “We are delighted to offer on-board WiFi internet connectivity which takes our on-board travel experience to truly global standards. We are also glad to be the first Indian carrier to be able to offer this service to our customers. We truly hope our customers enjoy this new addition as we continuously strive to surpass their expectations.”

The Wi-Fi system that is installed in the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is developed by Panasonic Avionics. This system will allow passengers to send emails, text messages, and more sitting in the aircraft 35,000 feet above the ground. Vistara will be taking notes on how it can improve the service and until then it will be offering it for free. Wi-Fi tariff plans will be announced very soon by the airline.
