In the recent development of events, the biggest carrier at the Miami International Airport – American Airlines has made an announcement to add four new international routes and six new domestic routes. This will bring it to a total of 378 flights actively operating from Miami by American Airlines, a feat that has never been achieved before. The new expansion by the airline during the very busy winter schedule will witness flights to and from Chetumal, Mexico; San Andres, Colombia, and to Dominica and Anguilla.
The Solidification of American Airlines at Miami International Airport
The vice president of American Airlines’ Miami Hub Operations, Juan Carlos Liscano said in a statement that the airline is hiring around 1500 new members this winter and will be adding more destinations along with improving already existing networks and will be deploying more wide-body planes in order to double down on its operations from Miami Airport. He further informed that the airline will be operating its largest schedule in the history of the Miami hub and will be serving the largest number of passengers at once.
The airline has also released a list of its new routes commencing during the winter schedule which includes the destinations that will receive service from Miami International Airport. Chetumal, Mexico will have biweekly flights on Wednesday and Saturday beginning December 1. San Andres, Colombia will witness biweekly flights on Wednesday and Saturday beginning December 4. Dominica will have biweekly flights on Wednesday and Saturday beginning December 8. Anguilla will have biweekly flights on Wednesday and Saturday beginning December 11.
Apart from these international routes, American Airlines is also adding new domestic routes. It will operate daily flights from Salt Lake City, Utah beginning from April 4, 2022. Albany N.Y., Burlington, Vermont, Madison, Wisconsin, Syracuse N.Y., and Tulsa Oklahoma will witness weekly Saturday flights commencing from April 02, 2022.
