Mumbai Airport

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the country. But on the weekends, especially during the festive season, the footfalls inside the airport increase dramatically.

According to a TOI report, on Sunday, passengers arriving at the Mumbai airport in the early hours of Sunday had to meet with heavy and long-queues at the immigration counter. While the airport officials said that the immigration clearing took about 30 minutes, some users posting videos and images on Twitter directly from inside the airport said that they had to wait for hours before clearing immigration.

The airport said that due to the festive season, the wait times were increased temporarily. However, pregnant women, mothers with infants, and senior citizens were cleared through the diplomatic counters. After years of people travelling during Diwali, it would have been decent of the airport officials to have been ready with appropriate measures to not ruin the experience of the passengers inside the airport.
